Auction to benefit ASAN

This year was supposed to be the year I wrote my book. Naturally my brain wouldn’t let me and I accidentally started a craft business instead.

Last year’s April took a ton out of me, so many planned advocacy posts went unwritten. Instead, this year I’m raising funds for the Autistic Self Advocacy Network because they’re really great and do a lot more good than You-Know-Who.

I wanted to use an auction widget, but you have to have a business account for that, and I don’t have that kind of money. So this is how it will go:

Comment your bid. Highest comment bid at the end of April 7th wins. US only, sorry, I can’t ship internationally. Highest bidder once verified by me can send their address to me via “Contact Me” so their address is private, then I’ll send you the address to PayPal.

All money will go to ASAN. I’m donating the materials, the time and skill making it, and shipping costs. My scarves usually sell for around $40 so I’m hoping the bids will go at least that high. Again, all money will go to the charity, and you can have them verify if you don’t trust a random blogger you don’t know IRL. 🙂

The scarf is 100% Acrylic, meaning it’s soft and not itchy. It also means that it is machine washable and dryable. Just don’t iron it. The buttons were also made by a fellow autistic, so it’s 100% autistic made. The maker of the buttons says that the buttons can also go through the wash, but recommends putting the scarf in a delicate garment mesh bag while in the wash to protect against any possible damage to the buttons.

The colors of the scarf were intended to echo the Neurodiversity spectrum colors.
